The Dutch Deputy Chief Public ProsecutorMr. Sander de HAAS and the delegation accompanying him paid, on 31 January 2017, a visit to our Directorate General.

During the meeting presided over by the Deputy Director General Mr. Ahmet BAŞARAN, the issues of judicial cooperation between Turkey and the Netherlands were discussed, and views were exchanged on further development of the current cooperation. An informative presentation was made to the delegationwith respect to the bloody coup attempt staged on 15 July 2016 by the FETÖ (The Fetullah Terrorist Organization) and the structure of the said organization; the necessity of cooperation in the fight against all terrorist organizations, mainly the PKK, DHKPC and ISIS along with the FETÖ, for an effective fight against terrorism and our country’s expectation of cooperation from the Netherlands were strongly expressed; and views were exchanged with respect to the appointment of a judicial counselor to Turkey, which is planned by the Netherlands.

During the visit, the meeting was attended by Ms. Lisette VOS and Ms. Karin VERSHEUREN from the Ministry of Justice of the Netherlands; Mr. Robbert HANEVELD, the Police Liaison Officer from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ankara; and the Head of Department Ms. Hatice Seval ARSLAN, the Rapporteur Judges Mr. Abdullah ÖMEROĞLU and Mr. Zafer SALAN, and the Assistant Judicial Expert Mr. Mehmet Fatih DOĞAN from the Directorate General for International Law and Foreign Relations.
