DEPUTY MINISTER OF JUSTICE BİLAL UÇAR GAVE A SPEECH AT THE SILK ROAD INTERNATIONAL FORUM
The Silk Road International Forum for Legal Service Affairs, organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in which Turkey was represented as a Dialogue Partner, was held on 23-24 November 2016.

“Regional cooperation mechanisms sould be established”

Deputy Minister of Justice Bilal UÇAR gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the Forum organized at the city of Yiwu in the People’s Republic of China. The Deputy Minister underlined the importance of establishing regional mechanisms to prevent and efficiently combat cross border crimes such as cybercrimes, human trafficking, migrant smuggling and terrorism.

“No country can prevail against terrorism on its own”

Stressing that terrorism is one of the greatest threats that states face today, Mr. UÇAR expressed that Turkey is fighting against FETO/PDY, ISIL and PKK, as well as similar terrorist organisations in a successful and efficient manner as in the example of the coup attempt of July 15. The Deputy Minister also said that no country could prevail against terrorism on its own, that international cooperation is important against this global threat and that he expected close cooperation and a unified attitude from all friendly countries against terrorism.

“Great interest in Turkey”

Greeted with great interest from the ministers and deputy ministers of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Mr. UÇAR conducted a series of bilateral meetings in the Forum, attended by representatives of 18 countries along the Silk Road.
